How to Play

Play Heliumphant online for free. Heliumphant is a flying level escape game where you help a small elephant make a big impact. Use your trunk for propulsion & to collect apples or elephants to increase the size of your bubble. Shoot out apples or elephants to hit distant switches & knock down stone walls. Make it to the level exit with the correct size bubble to beat each stage and move onto the next one. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the PLAY button on the game loading screen to go to the welcome screen.
Select the start button on the bottom center of the welcome screen to load the introduction comic.
Select the start in the lower right corner of the comic to start playing the first level.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button as a means of propulsion and to suck up apples or elephants.
  - Use the mouse right click button or the spacebar to fire apples or elephants at switches and concrete blocks.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - This game is designed to be played on desktop devices.
    - Controls & indicators
      - Your bubble percent is shown in the top center of the screen.
        
        The border of your bubble is a flashing blue color if you are at or above 70%.
        
        The goal at the end of the level has a spinning green border if your bubble is the same matching size.
        
        The upper left corner of the game has a level restart button.
        
        Game Play
        
        Basics
        
        Moving & collecting
        
        Use your trunk to shoot out energy which provides you propulsion power moving you in the opposite direction.
        
        Point your trunk at an apple or elephant and left click to collect it.
        
        You can move through the wooden part of a double blade without taking a hit.
        
        You take a hit and the size of your bubble shrinks temporarily whenever you run into a sharp object.
        
        Bubble size
        
        You start each level with a bubble size of 30%.
        
        Each apple you collect increases your bubble size by 10% (to 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 & 100).
        
        You can collect elephants when you get up to a bubble size of 70%.
        
        Your bubble size contracts by 10% anytime you shoot an apple or elephant, or run into a sharp object.
        
        If your size is 30% and you hit something then you lose the level.
        
        Switches & walls
        
        You can activate nearby switches by running into them.
        
        You can activate distant switches you can’t reach by shooting either an apple or elephant at it.
        
        You can knock over stone walls by shooting elephants at them.
        
        Levels
        
        This game has 10 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
        
        You can’t go back to replay previously beat levels without starting the game over.
        
        Winning vs losing
        
        You beat a level by making it to the goal at the end of the level while being the right size.
        
        Each goal states its size in the center.
        
        You are automatically pulled toward the center of a goal whenever part of your bubble overlaps the goal & you are the correct size.
        
        If you are too large you can shoot elephants or apples to reduce your size.
        
        If you are too small you either need to collect additional apples & elephants, or restart the level.
        
        If you die on a level or get stuck you can continue an unlimited number of times.
        
        Strategy
        
        You do not lose health for bumping into walls, so if there are spikes on one side and a blank wall on the other side try to hug the empty wall and repeatedly bounce off it so you do not run into the spikes.
        
        Levels are not timed, so if you are collecting an apple or elephant near spikes be sure to position yourself correctly so that you do not knock yourself into spikes by collecting it.
        
        You are temporarily invincible after taking a hint, so move quickly after getting hit to get out of the dangerous area.
        
        You have to collect apples in the correct order to be able to make it through to the end, with some parts being impossible to traverse if your bubble is too big.
        
        In some cases you have to take a hit to make it through a part of a level.
        
        If you take a hit that you should have avoided or did not collect an early needed apple you can restart the level again.
