How to Play

Play Mahjong Card Solitaire online for free. Mahjong Card Solitaire is a 10-level tile matching game where players must clear each level of all tiles to progress to the next level. Each level has a unique design. You can choose which board layout you would like to play on the first level of your game. Can you beat all 100 board designs? This game is rendered in mobile-friendly HTML5, so it offers cross-device gameplay. You can play it on mobile devices like Apple iPhones, Google Android powered cell phones from manufactures like Samsung, tablets like the iPad or Kindle Fire, laptops, and Windows-powered desktop computers. All game files are stored locally in your web browser cache. This game works in Apple Safari, Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, Opera and other modern web browsers.

Starting the Game

Select the red and white Play button in the upper right of the game’s welcome screen.
The welcome screen also has help, high scores, more games, and a level select button under the Play button.
The lower left corner of the game contains a language select & the lower right corner of the game has social sharing and developer information buttons.
Game Controls
- Desktop
  - Use your mouse left click button to select an open tile & then left click again to select a matching tile.
  - Touchscreen devices
    - Tap the screen with your finger to use it like a mouse & select tiles.
    - Controls & indicators
      - The top right of the game contains 3 buttons which can be used 3 times per level: shuffle, undo, and hint.
      - Underneath those button it shows your score, the current level number, & how long you have played for.
      - At the bottom of the right column there is a pause button followed by buttons for music control & sound control.
      - To the left of the music button there is a button to activate full screen mode.
      - Game Play
        Open Tiles
        Only open tiles can be removed from the playing field.
        A tile is considered open if there is no tile on top of it (vertically above it) and at least one side on the left or right of the tile is open.
        Open tiles in this game have a lighter color whereas tiles which are not open have a darker shading on them.
        When matching tiles the tile must have the same suit and the same numerical or face value.
        Strategy
        In general it makes sense to remove tiles which have the most layers underneath them first to open up the playing field.
        If a part of the board is wide & another part is more narrow then it makes sense to attack the wider parts of the level first in order to require fewer consecutive moves to clear those rows.
        If you get stuck
        Games & levels
        Each game lasts until either you lose a round or complete 10 levels.
        When you start a game you can choose 100 different level designs to begin your game. The level design will be unique for each of the subsequent levels you play.
        Target Audience
        The game is suited for people of all ages who like mahjong solitaire games.
        The game has no adult themed content.
